Welcome home

Family hospitality, not a hotel

Hostal Familiar Rivalta is the house we live in and where we have been hosting guests for over a decade. There is no impersonal reception desk: the family opens the door, tells you what to see in Santa Clara and makes your breakfast whenever you need it. The house keeps its mouldings, its chequered floors and its plant-filled patio, along with the comforts you expect today: air conditioning, hot water and WiFi.

  • Family care and round-the-clock availability
  • Tourist information and help arranging tours
  • Homemade Cuban breakfast with seasonal fruit
  • Daily cleaning, bed linen and towels included

Our greatest difference

When the power goes out, you will not notice

Cuba suffers frequent, long blackouts. That is why we installed 17 solar panels with backup batteries — 9.5 kW of capacity — so the house keeps lighting, ventilation, hot water and the ability to charge your devices all night, even when the rest of the neighbourhood is dark.

This is not a small detail. It means sleeping cool, keeping food cold in the fridge and not worrying about your phone or camera battery.
