Room 1
Private room with two double beds, en-suite bathroom and views over the interior patio.
Two private rooms with en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and homemade Cuban breakfast. And something rare in Cuba: guaranteed electricity 24 hours a day thanks to our photovoltaic system.
Welcome home
Hostal Familiar Rivalta is the house we live in and where we have been hosting guests for over a decade. There is no impersonal reception desk: the family opens the door, tells you what to see in Santa Clara and makes your breakfast whenever you need it. The house keeps its mouldings, its chequered floors and its plant-filled patio, along with the comforts you expect today: air conditioning, hot water and WiFi.
Where you will sleep
Each room is independent, with its own private bathroom, fridge and air conditioning. They can be booked together for a group of up to six people.
Private room with two double beds, en-suite bathroom and views over the interior patio.
Spacious, bright room with tall windows, private bathroom and fridge.
Our greatest difference
Cuba suffers frequent, long blackouts. That is why we installed 17 solar panels with backup batteries — 9.5 kW of capacity — so the house keeps lighting, ventilation, hot water and the ability to charge your devices all night, even when the rest of the neighbourhood is dark.
This is not a small detail. It means sleeping cool, keeping food cold in the fridge and not worrying about your phone or camera battery.
Services included

Location
We are on Colón Street, one of the main streets of Santa Clara, about 400 metres from Parque Vidal. You can walk to the historic centre, El Mejunje, the theatre and the Cigar Factory, and the Armoured Train monument is about twelve minutes away.
What guests say
“They welcomed us wonderfully. More than a guesthouse, it is a great family. They helped us with everything and gave us excellent advice for visiting the city.”
“Noyla looked after us the whole time and the location is fantastic: you can walk to the square and the whole centre. The room was spotless and the breakfast was huge.”
“The breakfast was delicious and very generous; we lacked nothing. The house is beautiful, with a patio full of plants, and it is very peaceful.”
“Despite being on a fairly busy street, the guesthouse is genuinely quiet. Good-sized rooms, clean and well equipped. The air conditioning worked perfectly.”
“With the solar panels you would not even notice a blackout. That peace of mind, in Cuba, is worth far more than it sounds.”
“An excellent place for a cosy, family stay, with beautiful colonial architecture. The breakfast is excellent quality at a very affordable price.”
